STONE COUNTY, AR-- Animal abuse accusations are surfacing against an Arkansas animal control officer. Deputies in Stone county are investigating his possible neglect of two horses. But the officer says he did nothing wrong. However, the president of the Stone County Humane Society says she started receiving complaints about the two horses staying in a pasture off Happy Hollow Road last summer. One of the animals didn't survive after appearing emaciated for months. "When you see the pics, I'll be very honest and I wish I would never have to see that again," says Tina Holmlund with the Stone County Humane Society. The Stone County Sheriff's Department is waiting on results from a vet to find out the exact cause of the horse's death. We did speak to the animal control officer being investigated. He declined an interview but told us the horse died of an illness called colic.
