LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Senator Mark Pryor is pushing for a bill to protect customers from future data breaches like the ones that hit Target, Neiman Marcus, and Yahoo email customers. Pryor was in Rogers Friday as part of the Arkansas Municipal League Conference. Pryor is also Chairman of the Communications, Technology, and the Internet sub-committee. He's pushing for a bill that would provide a federal standard for companies to better safeguard personal information and to more quickly notify compromised customers. The FTC would be directed to develop robust and flexible rules requiring businesses that possess consumers' personal information to adopt reasonable security.
