Arkansas Leaders Give Progress Report on Storm Cleanup

CONWAY, AR-- Local leaders gave a progress report on the Arkansas tornado cleanup from the steps of the Faulkner County Courthouse in Conway on Wednesday. Faulkner County Judge Allen Dodson was among the public officials gathering in an afternoon news conference to praise Arkansans for their help in the aftermath of the storms, while also warning that the real work is just beginning.

"Our community is undergoing a horrific tragedy," said Dodson. "Keep in mind there are people out there working right now and they're just in shock they're lives have been destroyed. They've gone through trying times. And forgive me as I struggle through this. I wanna say to the victims, you're in our hearts and in our minds. I can't tell you the number of calls and reach outs that I've personally gotten and I have at our office."

Tornado victims in the heavily hit cities of Mayflower and Vilonia can now apply for individual assistance by calling FEMA. Eligible communities will also receive public assistance to cover the costs of rebuilding. For more information, click here or call: 1-800-621-3362.
