LITTLE ROCK, AR -- After Thursday's hearing on same-sex marriage in Arkansas, the AG's office has released the following statement.

"We presented our case in defense of an amendment passed by the people, which is the Attorney General’s constitutional responsibility.

Although the Attorney General strongly opposes discrimination of any kind, the office’s defense of the state’s definition of marriage will continue zealously unless the Arkansas Supreme Court declares Amendment 83 unconstitutional," said Aaron Sadler, Spokesman for the Office of Attorney General Dustin McDaniel.
