According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average price of a pound of bacon rose another six cents in June, up to an all-time high of $6.11 a pound.
That's 38 cents for an average single strip.
Ten years ago, bacon rang in at almost half that price.
So what's driving the most recent sudden spike in price?
A virus, not harmful to humans, has killed more than seven million piglets in the past year.
Still, the demand for bacon continues to soar.
