((KNWA/NBC))-- The price of bacon isn't just on the rise, it's at an all time high.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average price of a pound of bacon rose another six cents in June, up to an all-time high of $6.11 a pound.

That's 38 cents for an average single strip.

Ten years ago, bacon rang in at almost half that price.

So what's driving the most recent sudden spike in price?

A virus, not harmful to humans, has killed more than seven million piglets in the past year.

Still, the demand for bacon continues to soar.
