BELLA VISTA, AR-- The city of Bella Vista has given the go-ahead to a resolution calling for a change to the state's sex offender registration law.

In a 5 to 0 vote Monday night, city council members decided in favor of the resolution.

The move comes several months after north little rock city leaders voted to support changes statewide.

Under current state law, sex offenders are required to check in with police twice a year.

The new proposed change would require homeless sex offenders to check in once a month.
