Community Members March For Peace

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- On Good Friday, members of the Central Arkansas community from different faiths and backgrounds gathered at Heifer International to pray for peace. The event was called Pilgrimage for Peace.

"We kind of got the idea from the Episcopal Peace Fellowship and we read about other places where this was taking place and we decided we want to do it.," said planner Caroline Stevenson.

Planners created posters with different symbols of peace.

"All of the signs have peace written in different languages," said Stevenson.

Participants marched through the streets of downtown Little Rock with the mindset to encourage harmony in the community. It ended at the Beacon of Hope in North Little Rock, where readers read the names of people killed through violence in Pulaski County within the last year.
