Laura Wooldridge was just 39 years old.
Investigators say she was riding in Lake Leatherwood during the Fat Tire Festival when she somehow crashed on Saturday morning.
Wooldridge was able to walk out of the trail carrying her bike.
When emergency crews showed up, they say she was walking, talking and responsive but seriously hurt.
She was airlifted to a Fayetteville hospital where she passed away a short time later.
A memorial ride was held on Sunday in North Little Rock in her honor.
The Central Arkansas Recreational Pedalers group, of which Wooldridge was a member, issued the following statement:
"No words can adequately describe what Laura Wooldridge did for so many in this world. No words can describe how sad the news of her passing is. Our lives are forever changed and we will never forget. She will always be with us in our hearts when we ride."
Wooldridge's husband John wished to add, "Laura was known to cyclists by her infectious smile and was an advocate for women cyclists in the area."
