Duggar Robocall Rallies Against Local Civil Rights Ordinance, Makes National News

FAYETTEVILLE, AR-- Michelle Duggar is weighing in on Fayetteville's anti-discrimination proposal, with a robocall to Northwest Arkansas. And, it's making national headlines.

The call went out to area voters at around noon on Monday, urging voters to speak out against Fayetteville's proposed anti-discrimination ordinance.

In the call, Duggar references Ordinance 119, a proposal up for a voteTuesday night by Fayetteville City Council members.

Part of the transcript says:

"Hello, this is Michelle Duggar. I'm calling to inform you of some shocking news that would affect the safety of Northwest Arkansas women and children. That would allow men - yes, I said men - to use women's and girls' restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only. I don't believe the citizens of Fayetteville would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas that are reserved for women and girls. Will you speak up for protecting women and children?"

The call was paid for by www.freefayetteville.org. That's a site that re-directs people to the Arkansas Family Council's' website.
