Growler Sales Start Up Around Arkansas

There's a new way to get beer in the Natural State. Liquor stores and gas stations are tapping kegs and pouring growlers. A growler is a bottle or a glass that's a minimum of 32 ounces. The Alcoholic Beverage Control has issued 17 licenses to businesses around Arkansas. At Road Runner gas stations in Fayetteville and Little Rock, there's a entire growler area set up.

"I say it's crazy, I've never seen something like this in a gas station. I love it," Little Rock shopper Terrance Jackson said.

But not everyone is on board. "It's so dang expensive. You can get just as drunk with the canned stuff that's on the other side of the aisle. It's silly. It's foolish. College kids is what's going to be eating it up," said Robert Slavings of Little Rock.

There are a list of requirements for growler purchases. You can't pop a top in the store, and gas stations are still not allowed to sell beer on Sundays.
