ARKANSAS- A contest on governor-hopeful Curtis Coleman's candidate website is catching some attention.

The conservative Republican is giving away an AR-15 rifle to supporters who enter the contest on his page.  According to the site, the gun was donated by Don's Weaponry, a Little Rock gun shop.  The contest does mention that any winner will have to pass the background check required by law and must be an Arkansan, 18 or older.

A Facebook post promoting the contest has been shared more than 20 times.

Arkansas businessman Coleman is a vocal supporter of gun rights, praising the recent decision by the state board to allow armed staff members at public schools.

The AR15 has gotten a lot of backlash following the high profile shootings at the Colorado movie theater,  Newton elementary school and last month at LAX. This type of rifle was used by the gunmen in all three incidences.
