Jewelry Store Victim Speaks About Terrifying Experience

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Little Rock police arrest three people in connection to a jewelry store robbery Thursday morning. Victims say the crime was terrifying. Bridget Whelan is one of the victims in the robbery at Cecil's Fine jewelry.

"I saw three masked men, dressed in all black with backpacks, enter with crowbars, two shotguns, and a handgun," said Whelan. Whelan, her mother, and a customer were inside the store just after ten, when three men walked inside smashing displays and taking what they wanted. "Basically if you lifted your head, they would scream at you and tell you to keep your head down because they didn't want us to look at them," said Whelan.

Display cases throughout the store are now damaged. Whelan says one of the suspects hit her with a gun. "He struck me on the back of the head," said Whelan. Whelan says she is pleased police made quick arrests, but she realizes the situation could have been much more dangerous. "A little banged up and bruised and traumatized but we have a video surveillance and take all security measures," said Whelan.

Demetrius Curtis, along with a 17-year-old black male and a 16-year-old black male will be charged with aggravated robbery. A search warrant is being executed on a vehicle and a residence to see what evidence can be recovered.
