AROUND ARKANSAS-- Most of the ice is melted after this week's storms, but drivers and state lawmakers are wanting answers about icey roads still causing problems on state highways four days after the sleet and ice hit. The bad road conditions causing plenty of traffic troubles on interstates 40 and 55."It took us about an hour to go six miles once we got to Arkansas," says Jeff James, who was stuck on I-40. Republican Mountain Home Representative Johnny Key says, "Is it an equipment issue, is it a procedure issue, is it a coordination issue? We don't know." But lawmakers are trying to find out. A joint House and Senate transportation committee will ask more questions of highway commissioners. And at the Governor's request, the commission itself will hold a special meeting next week to go over what went wrong.
