ARKANSAS -- Friday, a state senator plans to ask Arkansas' legislative council to adopt a resolution in support of Amendment 83. You may remember amendment 83 banned same-sex marriage back in 2004. Republican state senator Jason Rapert plans to ask for the vote on the resolution. Rapert says he has the support of more than 40 state lawmakers. Rapert contends Pulaski County Circuit Judge Chris Piazza over stepped his bounds by calling the amendment unconstitutional.
