BENTONVILLE, AR-- A new kind of education is on the way to Benton County, focusing on science, math and technology. Bentonville school leaders met this week to talk over plans for a charter school developed over the past few months by district administrators and teachers. It includes a plan to convert one of the district's buildings into a charter school for grades kindergarten through eighth grade. The new school would focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics, commonly referred to as S.T.E.M., with an additional focus on the arts. If the state gives the go ahead, the school could be open by August of next year.
