Razorbacks Pitch in at Family Fun Day For Tornado Victims in Mayflower

MAYFLOWER, AR-Rebuilding has been tough for the city of Mayflower after the April tornadoes so this weekend, the town got together to just have some fun.
"We were in Conway whenever a tornado come through fortunately we weren't at home but our home did get it and it did quite a bit of damage" says Billy Stain.

Still unable to move into their family home Billy along with many other affected by the April 27th tornados came out to Mayflower High school for a day of fun. here was food- activities and even a chance to hangout with dozens of Razorback athletes.

"To see little children go through those things, its just very important just put smiles on these kids faces. Because I didn't go through that when I was younger and I know its hard for their parents. So its easy for us to just come out here and enlighten these kids and their families and smile and sign autographs" says Razorback basketball player Jabril Durham.

Its all part of the community's effort to rebuild and recovery after the tornados.

For victims like Billy and his family left without a home this is just what they needed.

"Its really nice to be able to see the community come together and do something for everybody. Just like you say its nice to not have to think about it and just be able to come out here and play a little bit" says Stain.

Organizers say they have more events like these planned in hopes of making the recovery process easier.
