RED CROSS -- In an effort to keep folks safe, The American Red Cross has developed a tornado app. The goal is to save lives and reduce loss from tornadoes and severe thunder storms. If there is a tornado warning in your area, you'll hear a voice over a siren telling you to seek shelter in a hallway or bathroom in the middle of your home, workplace or school. Some other features include thunderstorm watches and warnings, NOAA weather radio's latest advisories and forecasts, and a one-touch message feature that lets family and friends know you're safe. The Red Cross has also developed similar apps for floods and earthquakes.
