ELKINS, AR-- Some changes are coming to Highway 16 through Elkins, east of Fayetteville.
After a traffic investigator made recommendations about a month ago, the state transportation department is now moving forward with the proposals.
One change will create a continuous turn lane between Harris Community Road and Highway 74.
It's an intersection that averages an accident every two weeks.
Another change will be in the speed limit.
Soon, new signage will make Highway 16 a 45 mile-an-hour speed limit through the entire city, instead of fluctuating.
