Tyrone Hinton's Brother Discusses Shooting, Jermain Taylor

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- As Tyrone Hinton awaits surgery after Pulaski County Sheriff's deputies say he was shot by Arkansas boxer Jermain Taylor, his brother says he holds no ill will toward him.

"It's hard but knowing he's going to alright but everything is much better," Kevin Hinton, Tyrone's brother, said.

Jermain Taylor bonded out of jail Wednesday, after pleading not guilty to charges of first-degree domestic battery and aggravated assault.

Deputies say Taylor shot his cousin, Tyrone, after getting into an argument at his house Tuesday night.

"It really didn't matter what happened or what was did or said how did it get this far," Kevin said.

Deputies say Tyrone was hit by 5 bullets, 4 of them ending up lodged in his pelvis. His older brother Kevin said it could've been worse.

"He was blessed, truly blessed, he wasn't lucky -- none of that -- he was blessed," Kevin said.

Kevin said his nephew -- Tyrone's son -- was there when the fight and shooting happened. He said Tyrone had worked for Taylor, opening his boxing gym everyday and had a close, day-to-day relationship.

Though the shooting shocked the family, Kevin said it's that family bond that will help them get through it.

"I talked to Jermain earlier. He is really sorry remorseful," Kevin said. "Does it negate the fact my brother is laying in the hospital? No. But we're all family we'll work it out as a family."
