Unemployment on the Decline in Arkansas

LITTLE ROCK, AR--The unemployment rate in the Natural State is on the decline.

According to the labor department, it's dropped to 6.4% for the month of May. That's down from 6.4% in April.

The department also reported the state's unemployment rate is more than a full percent lower than this time last year.

According to the Labor Department, Arkansas' civilian labor force declined 7,300, as a result of 4,600 fewer employed and 2,700 fewer unemployed Arkansans.

The United States' jobless rate remained at 6.3% May.
