Leonard McCandless, a Veteran and Volunteer at the museum said, "We've got a little bit of everything. We've got aircraft from the really early up to modern." Leonard is one of a dozen veterans who's mission is it to help keep the place looking top notch by cleaning and restoring these items to their true glory. From bringing in more pieces to making the ones they have even better, it's all about preserving history.
John Evans, who's family was visiting the museum, "The large collection is something special for a community like Fayetteville."
McCandless said, "It's very educational and I like to think its entertaining." And so long is someone is willing to listen, plenty are willing to share their stories at this museum., just like Leonard. "You can't take it all in one day. You come back and may see things you didn't understand the firs time," explains McCandless.
You can visit the museum at Drake Field in Fayetteville.
