Marissa Kargas

Marissa Kargas -

Marissa Kargas joined the KNWA/FOX24 team in October 2011. She started as a Reporter, moved to Weekend Anchor/Producer, started waking up early as the Morning Anchor and Executive Producer on KNWA Today and was promoted to Evening Anchor in February 2017.

Kargas grew up on the West Coast, making her way from Washington to California. She graduated from San Diego State University with a degree in Journalism, emphasis in Public Relations and a Minor in Political Science. She also completed two internships with the NBC affiliate in San Diego. Kargas then packed up and moved to Arkansas, not knowing she would fall in love with the Natural State.

Her husband, Jonathan, is a microbiologist and a strength and conditioning coach in Fayetteville. They have a dog named Griffey, after Ken Griffey, Jr., who loves running in the yard and sleeping in the sun. They look forward to starting a family in Northwest Arkansas, especially now that they have loved ones nearby. Marissa's mom, two younger brothers and younger sister all moved to Northwest Arkansas from California. It's a hard place to beat!

You can often spot the Kargas family driving down rural country roads, sipping local coffee, shopping at small businesses and enjoying every aspect of life in Arkansas.

Be sure to watch Marissa Kargas weeknights on KNWA News at 5:00, 6:00 & 10:00 p.m.
