On the ground and seeing the damage first-hand of the Moore, OK tornado. That is just one of the missions for the local nonprofit, Sheep Dog Impact Assistance. The other mission is helping fellow Sheep Dogs; current and retired military personnel.
"It's an outlet to continue giving back to their country and community, says Rogers Sheep Dog volunteer, Lance Nutt. "This is the type of organization that is giving people with that type of background an opportunity for continued service."
More than a dozen members and volunteers from Rogers, joined other Sheep Dog volunteers already on the ground in Moore, Oklahoma, just days after the deadly May 3rd tornado.
"We like to bring supplies, bottled water, blankets tarps, etc.," says Nutt. "They've got a long way to go. There was a lot of damage done and the recovery process is not a 72-hour process."
That is why Sheep Dog volunteers say they will continue to help tornado survivors in the days and weeks to come.
"Help's on the way," says Nutt. "We're going to do our best to help them stand up and begin the rebuilding process."

"Heading back! First, we would like to say a big Thank You to everyone that has contributed to our efforts in Moore, OK. The outpouring of support from people all over the country has been amazing! Our mission to Moore was another reminder of just how delicate our world can be, and how quickly our lives can be turned inside-out. The people of Oklahoma are strong and resilient, they will bounce back and be stronger than ever. In the meantime, we will continue supporting their recovery process as best we can. Our members and volunteers have responded as well as we knew they would in their efforts to assist people in need, and they did amazing things while on the ground in and around Moore, OK. We are deploying a third team this coming Tuesday and ask that you consider supporting our continued efforts and mission. Thank you for your prayers, and for believing in our mission to provide fellow Sheep Dogs with an opportunity for continued service."
