The accident happened on W. Sunset just past Johnson Road. According to Lt. Derek Hudson with Springdale Police, the boy is awake and breathing and he is being taken to Northwest Medical Center.

On September 24, 2013, at 08:14am, the Springdale Police Department received a report of a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident at US 412 (Sunset) and Dyer.
Upon officer’s arrival thirteen year of age male was being treated by members of the Springdale Fire department. While speaking with the driver of the vehicle and a friend of the pedestrian, the preliminary investigation showed that the male was crossing Sunset on his way to South West Jr. High and was struck by the vehicle which was traveling westbound. The pedestrian was transported to Northwest Medical Center in Springdale, with what are being called non life threatening injuries. The pedestrian's father arrived on scene and was escorted to Northwest Medical Center by Springdale Police.
Accident investigators found no moving violations, and the driver was not cited.
