On Wednesday, the retailer presented a $25,000 matching gift check to the city to plant roughly 1,000 trees as part of the nationwide community service day. The trees are planned for Walton and other areas in the community. Mayor Bob McCaslin accepted the donation at a morning event outside the Walton 5 & 10 on Bentonville Town Square. It's all to kick off of an ongoing, yearly effort to increase the number of trees in the city.
The city will enlist the help of volunteers to get these plants installed.
