Arkansas WIC Program Spared Amid Shutdown

LITTLE ROCK, AR-- The WIC program provides supplemental nutrition for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children under 5 years old.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Even after the government shutdown, families will continue to receive benefits for women, infants and children (WIC) this week.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reached an agreement with the Arkansas Department of Health (DOH) that would preserve benefits and jobs on a week-to-week basis.  The WIC program provides supplemental nutrition for pregnant, breastfeeding and postpartum women and children under 5 years old.
