Arkansas state police are moving driving tickets off the pad and onto computers.

A new electronic system aims to reduce errors for the Arkansas state police. A swipe of a driver's license and all the information downloads into the system, speeding up those side of the road stops and avoiding confusion that could be caused by a trooper's bad handwriting.

ASP Cpl. Mike Morgan said, "It's a quicker stop. We're not holding them on the side of the road as long anymore. It's legible so they can read the ticket and don't get confused on the court date or what the ticket is for."

The pilot program for these e-tickets started about a year ago, now the system is being used by troopers statewide.
