GOSHEN, AR-- A baby who became known throughout northwest Arkansas has died.

We first told you about Cannon Caleb Tompkins back in March when he was born a full fourteen weeks early.  After spending seven months in the ICU, Cannon was discharged from the hospital and came home to Goshen with his family in early October.  But on Friday, the family released a message from the 7-month-old's parents, Kelly and Spencer:

"It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the death of our son Cannon Caleb Tompkins this morning. We appreciate all the prayers and concern for us over the past several months. We know Cannon is with his Heavenly Father. We know we will be together again someday. We are blessed to be his parents."

Since his birth, almost 1,200 people have followed his story on a Facebook page called Go Cannon Go.  According to the page, the family has decided on a family-only graveside service.
