Beam Signing For Baseball/Track Indoor Facility

Tuesday Head Baseball Coach Dave Van Horn, Women's Track Coach Lance Harter and Men's Track Coach Chris Bucknam joined Long in a Beam signing ceremony for the new Baseball and Track Indoor Training Center.

"You know, we truly want to support our student athletes to be the best athlete, the best student and develop them to be the best person they can be." says Athletic Director Jeff Long.

The next step to Athletic Director Jeff Long's master plan is in the works.. Tuesday Head Baseball Coach Dave Van Horn, Women's Track Coach Lance Harter and Men's Track Coach Chris Bucknam joined Long in a Beam signing ceremony for the new Baseball and Track Indoor Training Center.

"This will now make us probably the finest indoor track facility not only in the country but in the world," adds Long.

The building will house a practice infield, batting cages and much more for the baseball team.

"When they broke ground in July it was a special day for us. This is something that we've always wanted, I've always wanted." says Head Baseball Coach Dave Van Horn.

As well as allow and indoor space for track and field meets.

"Because that's what we were lacking here is a great warm up facility. Some place where our guys could not warm up outside." adds Head Men's Track and Field Coach Chris Bucknam.

"You know we could even have better performances if we had a better place to warm up. Well, this is going to be absolutely ideal." continues Women's Head Track and Field Coach Lance Harter.

but more than anything, the new facility will play a huge role in recruiting...

"Competing against teams in our league and across the country that all have these fancy indoor facilities and we're recruiting against them, and it's been something programs have used against us." continues Van Horn.

In fact, it already has.

"I definitely feel like it helped us get four or five guys. Helps them push those kids our way."
