Beaver Lake Reopens After Government Shutdown Hiatus

BENTON COUNTY, AR -- Beaver Lake is back in business after a 16-day hiatus due to the government shutdown.
BENTON COUNTY, AR -- Beaver Lake is back in business after a 16-day hiatus. The Army Corp of Engineers was forced to close up shop on October 1 as a result of the government shutdown. But Thursday, things were back to normal, just in time for folks to get out and enjoy the fall weather and foliage around the lake. Campgrounds, parks and boat docks are all, once again, open for business, and rangers with the Army Corps of Engineers are excited.

"Thank you for your patience and support. We are very happy to be back. See you on the Lake!!" they posted on Facebook Thursday morning.

Anyone whose reservations were canceled during the shutdown will receive a full refund. To request a refund, call 1-888-448-1474 (TDD 1-877-833-6777).
