Benton County Emergency Management Watches Weather

Benton County Emergency Managers are watching the weather forecast closely as FEMA inspects sites damaged in August floods.
Benton County, AR - The Emergency Management Agency is watching the weather forecast closely as FEMA inspects sites damaged in August floods.

FEMA officials spent Monday inspecting roads and bridges damaged on the West side of the county, and emergency management officials say it will take several weeks to look at all the areas that were hit.

Mike Dixon, Deputy Director of Emergency Management says the forecast for Monday evening looks manageable, but the agency is watching, waiting, and ready to respond if the area floods again.

"We still have quite a few roads that we have temporary fixes in, we haven't done permanent work on, and so we've got a lot of roads that if we do get a lot of rain we could see some further damage," Dixon says.
