Benton County Sting Uncovers Bags of Meth, Brass Knuckles & More

GENTRY, AR--Benton County law enforcement agents uncovered drugs, brass knuckles and more in an elaborate sting carried out Friday. According to the Benton County Sheriff's Office, members of the sheriff department’s Special Operations Team, assisted by Gentry Police Department, handcuffed Hefton Young Friday for an outstanding felony warrant issued for failure to appear for manufacturing methamphetamine.

After an extensive investigation, agents executed a narcotic search warrant at Young's home on East 1st Street in Gentry. During the search of the property, Benton county detectives and Gentry officers uncovered 516.8 grams of crystal methamphetamine. The drugs were found in various locations throughout the home as well as inside a truck located on the property.

The methamphetamine was packaged in 12 different baggies. Detectives also found digital scales, numerous plastic baggies, smoking pipes, two police scanners, brass knuckles, an oil can with a false compartment and several miscellaneous prescription pills in unmarked pill bottles. The investigation is ongoing and more arrests could be made.

Possession of a controlled substance with a purpose to deliver Class A Felony (5-64-420)
Possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine Class B Felony (5-64-419)
Possession of a Drug Paraphernalia Class D Felony (5-64-443)
Possession of a controlled substance Sch II 5-64-419 Class D Felony (5-64-419)
Possession of a controlled substance Sch III 5-64-419 Class D Felony (5-64-419)
