BENTON COUNTY, AR -- Cases battling child pornography are a top priority at the Benton County Sheriffs Office.
BENTON COUNTY, AR -- Cases battling child pornography are a top priority at the Benton County Sheriffs Office.

And with the addition of the Cyber Crimes Unit, Detective Craig Renfrow says the extra man power is helping get more offenders off the street.

The team has an entire room filled with computers, all searching internet file sharing sites looking for known images that are child pornography.

And the number is staggering.

"There's a lot more than you would think in the area and why it's important because they're with the children and we partner with ICAC and we are out there basically to stop people from being predators cause it could turn into a hands on offender," says Detective Craig Renfrow, part of the Cyber Crimes Unit at the Benton County Sheriff's Office.

The cyber crimes unit has been up and running now for 7 months. So far, detectives have made 11 arrests with several investigations in progress.
