Back in December, Scott Passmore set a goal of raising $1-million in about 90 days to replace the soccer and football turf without spending district money. Well, Passmore surpassed his goal by raising $1,020,000 solely from the community. He also said $200,000 additional commitments are in the works.
On Monday night, the school board unanimously approved entering into a contract to replace both fields this summer. The projects total cost comes in at $842,450 and should be completed by July 18.
As for the remaining funds, Passmore said he is hoping to get the track resurfaced and get a new high-definition scoreboard.
Here is a list of companies and people that have agreed to donate to the project: Crain Auto, SSC Service Solution, Coca-Cola, Walmart, Hormel, Scotts Miracle-Gro, Wisener Dental, Hillshire Farms, Alpe family, Northwest Medical Center, Arvest Bank, Bentonville Convention and Visitors Bureau, Bentonville Athletic Booster Club, Foster Roofing, Morey family, Outdoor Cap, Aramark, Studio 412, Signature Bank and Grand Savings Bank.
