2014 Dates for Arkansas Fall Bird Hunting Announced

LITTLE ROCK - Mark your calendars, hunters. The dates for Fall bird hunting in the Natural State have been set by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC).
LITTLE ROCK - Mark your calendars, hunters. The dates for Fall bird hunting in the Natural State have been set by the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission (AGFC).

The 2014 hunting seasons for early migratory birds and doves will begin in September.

Here's the full list:

Mourning dove and Eurasian collared-dove, Sept. 6-Oct. 25 and Dec. 20-Jan. 8

Teal season, Sept. 13-28

Rail season, Sept. 6-Nov. 14

Woodcock season, Nov. 8-Dec. 22

Common snipe season, Nov. 1-Feb. 15

Purple gallinule and common moorhen season, Sept. 1-Nov. 9

Early Canada goose season, Sept. 1-15

Northwest Canada goose zone season, Sept. 20-29

The AGFC is also considering the following suggested late migratory season dates:

Proposed duck season dates: Nov. 22-30, Dec. 4-Dec. 23, Dec. 26-Jan. 25. Youth Hunt: Jan. 31-Feb. 1

Canada, White-fronted, snow, blue and Ross’s goose seasons, Nov. 13-Jan. 25

Snow, blue and Ross’s goose conservation order, Oct. 11-Nov. 12, Jan. 26-30 and Feb. 2-April 25
