Arvest Issues Replacement Debit Cards After Learning More about Target Data Breach

ARKANSAS -- The Arkansas-based bank sent a letter to customers that included a new debit card, citing data breach problems at Target.
Recent data breaches at national retailers is prompting an Arkansas-based bank to issue replacement debit cards.

A letter landed in the mailbox of many Arvest bank customers, including the ready-to-use replacement to prevent future fraud.

The letter also gives a date for when the customer's old debit card will be automatically deactivated.

Arvest officials explain that this was a precautionary measure in light of what's happened at Target:

"We were monitoring the (customer) accounts for several weeks and made the decision to reissue based on additional information released by Target."

Arvest encourages anyone with questions about this proactive approach to contact their customer service department.
