The big day has been a long time coming.
"18 months ago, we finally got the go-ahead that 'yes, this network is going to happen' and we started meeting right away with ESPN and figuring all the schools had to figure out their logistics and where we had to go to get to where they needed us to be," said Michelle Glover, director of broadcast services for the university's athletic department.
The network gives the university an opportunity to introduce itself to viewers nationally.
"This provides a platform to tell those stories and tell people what they're missing if they haven't been to campus and if they haven't been to this state and...and that's a unique opportunity that I don't think we've ever had before," said Kevin Trainor, associate athletic director for public relations.
All Arkansas programming on the network will come from the new $7 million state of the art facility located in Bud Walton Arena.
"Other schools have some pieces in place and they're really adding and, um, mixing in what they need but we were able to start from scratch, which allowed us to get top of the line everything," Glover said.
The crew has spent months working on the network's premiere. Now that it's crunch time, they have their game face on.
"When you're sitting at home and you're watching 'Big Monday Basketball,' we want our basketball to look like that. That's the ultimate goal. We don't want you to notice any difference," Glover said.
The Hogs face Creighton at Razorback Field Thursday at 7 p.m.
