"When we arrived on the scene the house was fully involved, it was completely engulfed in flames," Bella Vista Fire Chief Stephen Sims said.

Bella Vista fire crews battled a lakeside house fire on Leincester Drive over night Thursday.

Due to high winds, several other homes across the lake on Flock Lane were at risk of catching fire, too.

"There were heavy embers fall in that area on top of the structures there were some of the homeowners on top of the roofs with water hoses wetting some of it down," Chief Sims said.

Fire fighters reported minor damage to those homes.

The woman and her cat inside the home on Leincester Dr. got out safely.

Bentonville Fire Department was called out to assist but the house was destroyed.

As of Thursday morning crews continued to put out hot spots.

"We don't suspect any foul play or any kind of arson or anything like that with the fire," Sims said.

What caused this fire is still under investigation.
