Bentonville Accepting Applications for Free Pre-K Program

BENTONVILLE -- The Building Bridges program has immediate spots for families who qualify. Children who are 3 or 4 years old by August 1st are eligible. Here's a rundown of the guidelines to qualify:
BENTONVILLE -- Bentonville Public Schools has openings now for their free pre-k program.

The Building Bridges program has immediate spots for families who qualify. Children who are 3 or 4 years old by August 1st are eligible. Here's a rundown of the guidelines to qualify:

One member of the household must be working a minimum of 30 hours per week or going to school full time and must meet income guidelines.

Maximum income for 2 person family is $39,406.85, 3 person family is $43,378.05 and 4 or more person family is $49,735.20.

Income requirements are waived if your eligible child is a foster child, if one parent is incarcerated parent, the child in custody of/living with a non-parent family member,  child with immediate family member arrested for or convicted of drug-related offenses or a child with a parent activated for overseas military duty.

The teachers for this program have a minimum of a bachelor's degree in early childhood and assistants have a minimum of a child development associate credential and the teacher/child ratio is 1/10.

Classrooms will be filled on a first come, first served basis with those who have submitted all appropriate paperwork and are approved for enrollment. To enroll or for additional information, please call (479) 254-5040.
