"Basically that's where someone can make a donation in your honor then on Valentine's Day or the day before we'll go out and visit them," Justine Lentz, Fayetteville Animal Services Superintendent said.
You can choose for your sweetheart to be surprised by a poodle with pink polish named Rocko, or a playful terrier mix named Gabby.
"Show people that shelter dogs are really awesome dogs and you know both of the dogs that we have doing the puppy-grams are former shelter dogs," she said.
The puppy-gram costs 30 bucks and goes into the general donation account.
"We use those throughout the year to treat more severe medical cases also to make facility improvements or try new programs."
So why not forgo flowers? A fuzzy valentine might just do the trick.
"It's a really unique way to show somebody that you've thought about them especially if that person is an animal lover but even if you're just tired of you know, chocolates, flowers, that kind of thing."
