APPLE ISSUES iPHONE 5 BATTERY RECALL

Having trouble with your iPhone 5 battery? You might be eligible for a free replacement. Apple said "a very small percentage" of iPhone 5 smartphones may "suddenly experience shorter battery life or need to be charged more frequently." Only iPhone 5 smartphones sold between September 2012 and January 2013 are eligible, and only those that fall within a certain range of serial numbers. Apple has opened a website that allows people to determine whether their phones are eligible.

100 DEATH CLAIMS FILED WITH GM
100 families are seeking money from General Motors after losing loved ones in car accidents. A consultant in charge of GM's compensation fund says the auto maker has received 100 death claims following its massive recall. GM has pledged to pay victims injured or killed as a result of a defect affecting 2.6 million cars. It can cause the vehicle to shut off unexpectedly, disabling airbags. The company has also received 184 injury claims. Victims and their families have until December 31 to file a claim with General Motors.

NEW FORD MODEL BUILT AT LOUISVILLE PLANT
Louisville has a new Lincoln rolling off the lines. A new luxury crossover is being built at Ford's Louisville assembly plant. Ford says it created 300 jobs for the Lincoln MKC production line, after a $129 million upgrade of the plant. Ford executives and local officials celebrated the launch of the Lincoln MKC during an event at the plant on Monday.
