City of Bentonville Appoints Two New Aldermen

BENTONVILLE, AR -- Two of the aldermen wanted to move outside their wards.
BENTONVILLE -- The Bentonville City Council has appointed two new aldermen.

Leah Williams and Chris Sooter resigned over the last few weeks. Their reasons? According to Mayor Bob McCaslin, both cited wanting to move their families outside of their wards. James Smith will replace Williams in representing Ward #3. John Skaggs will replace Sooter for ward #1.

To find new alderman, the city placed ads in the Benton County Daily Record, and people interested sent in a letter to the council. Tuesday night, the council heard from those people, and then voted for the two new aldermen.
