Dogs Travel from Arkansas to Minnesota for Better Adoption Chances

According to the Humane Society, because northern states have such a low domestic animal population, these dogs will be adopted quickly.
FORT SMITH, AR -- Dozens of dogs in Sebastian County are headed to Minnesota. The Sebastian County Humane Society loaded up 34 pups Thursday afternoon. Their journey will take them to another shelter in Minnesota. According to the Humane Society, because northern states have such a low domestic animal population these dogs will be adopted quickly.

"Out of the number of animals that we send, just about all of them, except for maybe one or two have been adopted almost immediately," says Adoptions Coordinator Terrance Richardson. "I think one or two of them might have had a hold for maybe a week to a week and a half until they found their home.'

As for the Sebastian County Humane Society, it has 259 currently waiting for a home. CLICK HERE to see which animals are available for adoption.
