ROGERS, AR -- A dump truck collided with a train in Rogers Thursday morning.

Rogers fire crews responded to 3500 block of N Arkansas around 10:30 in the morning. An Arkansas-Missouri Railroad train and this truck were involved.
According to investigators, the dump truck was trying to cross when it got clipped by the train. The truck then hit a blue GMC pick up. Police said the train did blow its horn to warn the driver.

Officers say it appears the driver was trying to beat the train and didn't make it, but the investigation is not complete.
According to police, drivers dart out in front of trains on a daily basis, and the accident should serve as a warning for other people on the road.

"A train is a large moving piece of metal," says Officer Keith Foster of the Rogers Police Department. "It doesn't stop quickly, so if you cut in front of it... you're putting yourself in danger."

The Rogers Fire Department reports the driver of the dump truck had only minor injuries.
