Fayetteville Public Library Releases More Details on Maya Angelou Apperance
FAYETTEVILLE, AR -- A renowned poet and Arkansas native is scheduled to speak in Fayetteville. Maya Angelou will speak at the Fayetteville Public Library on April 11 at 7 p.m. She's the celebrated author of the book "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings". Tickets for the event are free, but you need to reserve them. Ticket registration begins March 3, and you can reserve up to two tickets either on the library's website, over the phone, or in person at the library. Reserved tickets will need to be picked up at the library beginning Saturday, March 8 -22. After March 22nd unclaimed tickets will be made available to the public on a first come first serve basis at the library. Tickets will be required for all seating.
The library will dedicate 1300 seats for attendees at the library with some of those seats in rooms with simulcast video. Additional seating at the Hillside Auditorium on the UA campus will also require a ticket which can be reserved through the library website.
The library will be closed on Friday, April 11 to prepare for Dr. Angelou’s visit. Doors will open will open at 6 p.m. on the evening of April 11, and the performance begins at 7 p.m.
