LITTLE ROCK, AR -- Governor Beebe has announced state flags will fly at half-staff on Saturday to honor an Arkansas Forestry Commission pilot who died in a plane crash on January 31 while scouting for wildfires.

Jake Harrell,34, went missing after his plane lost contact with towers in South Central Arkansas. Almost two weeks later, crews found the wreckage in the Ouachita National Forest. Crews worked for two days to bulldoze a path to retrieve Jake Harrell and his plane from the side of a mountain.

Harrell, who also served as a North Little Rock Police officer, will be laid to rest Saturday.

Read the Governor's proclamation.
