Flash Flooding Cancels Class in North Little Rock

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR-- Central Arkansas is feeling the effects of the weekend storms.
PULASKI COUNTY ARKANSAS-- Central Arkansas is feeling the effects of the weekend storms. From wind damage to power outages, to flooded streets it's what people in the area have been dealing with since Sunday. Flash flooding even canceled class in North Little Rock on Monday. Faculty walked in early Monday morning, finding one to two inches of water covering the first floor. That, likely aided by mulch and debris blocking a nearby storm drain. "There's a good chance that the drain could not have handled that volume of water even if it hadn't clogged up," says Tim Jones with Pulaski Tech. The power of the water is still visible in other areas as well. A retaining wall in Little Rock gave way during heavy rains Sunday night. That left cars submerged and drivers stranded in quickly rising waters. The school should reopen on Tuesday.
