With prostate cancer affecting 1 in 6 men, the N.F.L. has once again teamed with the Urology Care Foundation for the "Know Your Stats About Prostate Cancer" campaign. It's meant to encourage men to get informed about their prostate cancer risk and talk to their doctor about whether cancer testing is right for them. The campaign is led by football heroes like Hall of Famer and prostate cancer survivor Michael Haynes.
"Well I would love it if men would get educated and understand the importance of urgent detection and help us get the word out. We encourage the survivors actually to talk to other men, help get those guys educated because most men do not talk about it and that's why it's kind of a secret, and we're trying to change the culture to make a difference that way," Haynes said.
