The National Child Protection Training Center is the newest center of its kind, now open at Northwest Arkansas Community College.
Court rooms, a mock house and forensic interview rooms make up the facility for specialized training and life-like scenarios. Law enforcement, students, and other child protecting professionals will use the facility. The executive director says this kind of training is crucial for those dealing with abuse.
Victor Vieth said, "we know from research how to train appropriately and we know the impact that training has so this will be a beacon of hope for child protection professionals throughout the country."
The new space will teach professionals in the field how to recognize and deal with abuse. It's the only location associated with a community college.
