Northwest Arkansas Community College hosted the AT&T "It Can Wait" campaign Wednesday.
It encourages folks to not use phones while driving.
Students, faculty and staff got a chance to try texting and driving in a simulator.
While navigating turns, construction and other obstacles, the driver receives a text message they have to read and respond to.
Organizers said it helps drivers realize how quickly accidents can happen.
"If that one death can be avoided because somebody decides they're not going to text and drive, then it's definitely worth it," Becky Hudson, Director of Student Life at NWACC said.
After taking a spin in the simulator, folks were encouraged to sign a pledge to never text and drive again.
